We specialize in offering all levels of Muay Thai, from beginner all the way to the highest levels. What keeps us separate from the rest is our deep, quality instruction which cannot be duplicated anywhere else. It’s not only our teaching approach through healthy encouragement and dedication to the art that defines us, or the fact that we have a thorough understanding of the principles, methodologies and concepts of Muay Thai, but our positive family environment which encourages, motivates, and develops the Martial Artist in all of us.

Broken Rhythm Kickboxing Studio is more than a place of training, its a place of study which prides itself with teaching the most authentic and comprehensive Muay Thai programs around. As experienced fighters, we teach the practical and competitive aspect of Muay Thai. As technicians, we teach the proper application and execution of movements. As teachers, we maximize the learning of each student through appropriate methods of facilitating progress with a deeply rooted belief and education (both hands on & academic) that’s second to none. And as Martial Artists, we continually advocate the principles of humility, respect, responsibility, constant learning, open-mindedness, tolerance, bravery, patience, dedication, loyalty, and compassion.

Martial Arts
Martial Arts is a method of self-discipline which trains the mind, body and soul. Its external benefits are many, ranging from gaining great body coordination, to proficiency of self-defense skills. Its internal benefits are endless, including mind-body transformation, mental strength, spiritual development and the understanding of Martial Arts principles. How do you define your life, your relationships with people and your contributions to society? One is not compelled to be a ‘good samaritan’ with Martial Arts, yet it can happen. Or one can experience physical and spiritual growth through the arts, stimulating the senses which affects gratitude, understanding and kindness. To master Muay Thai as a Martial Art is to master the self. Every challenge we face when we fight brings about our strengths and weaknesses. To be strong is to face our fears, accept them, and use them to our advantage. And this is part of what makes a great Martial Artist, to face adversity with a smile. Life brings about many issues which can require one to be strong and assertive while still being true to ourselves. We can be humble without being weak, understanding without being judgmental, and be respectful without being a pushover. Because we fight everyday, we fight with a purpose, to find inner peace within ourselves and accept changes as part of nature.

Sport
Muay Thai is the national sport of Thailand. Because of its competitive aspects, proper training results in increased stamina, power, strength and striking abilities. It involves a serious training regimen to enhance performance and develop a high tolerance for pain. As such, Muay Thai fights can be seen as being both relentless and devastating. Its no wonder fighters from other styles continue to learn Muay Thai to complement their own. As a competitive sport, Muay Thai is one of the most effective combat systems in the world. Striking combinations range from punching/kicking, punching/kneeing, kneeing/kicking, punching/elbowing, elbowing/kneeing, kicking/elbowing and so on. The focus of sport Muay Thai training is on power and endurance through the application of the eight limbs. Nonetheless, technique without power is useless, while power alone is not enough.

Sparring
Sparring is what separates Muay Thai training from many styles that rely more on empty forms. Sparring is essential towards developing skills such as timing, explosiveness, awareness, focus, speed, control, endurance, not to mention broken rhythm. The concept of fighting involves strategy to outwit your opponent, but also determination to transcend fear, doubt, pain and confusion. In other words, proper sparring helps us understand ourselves better, both our strengths and weaknesses. Fighting itself is unrehearsed and unpredictable. And a truly skilled fighter must be comfortable using his or her weapons in real time, applying time-tested methodologies of Muay Thai in a natural and self-expressed manner. Fighting allows you to know your inner demons, which is the true challenge within ourselves. Only when internal struggle is diminished will pure confidence be discovered like never before, leading to higher levels of self-actualization.

Fitness
Fitness Kickboxing is all about releasing unwanted tension while staying in shape. It’s about punching and kicking the bag to get rid of excess calories. And it’s about doing more than overrated aerobics or exercise routines that no longer motivate and stimulate progress. In today’s hectic world, we still need to find time to take care of ourselves. This includes taking care of our physical and mental wellbeing while reducing stress, complacency and sickness. To be healthy is to keep ourselves feeling young, active, and in shape. One of the best things about Fitness Kickboxing is that it’s tailor made for the athletes in all of us. By striking the bag with different combinations, coupled with motivational music and an instructor who keeps things going, one gets the flavor of being a fighter in training. This is, of course, an ideal way to keep motivation alive, to get into ‘the zone’ while you strike the bag into fitness, picturing your boss, professor, peer or any challenge that enters your mind – then going for it!

Private Training
To get that edge or to simply train discretely, private training sessions are ideal for isolating different methods necessary to attain greatness in areas such as striking, footwork, defense, offense, and sparring. For higher level students who require supplemental development of specific skills, training will be based on individual proficiency. An initial assessment and recommendation is made prior to setting up private training. Each session is set by appointment only.
