Do you want to learn a practical self-defense system that emphasizes great body coordination, endurance, agility, power, and explosiveness? What sets Muay Thai apart from other styles is its seemingly simplistic approach to fighting. It involves, not only the repetitive practice of key body weapons, but proper timing, technique, mindset and execution. The concept of using practical striking skills include the art of boxing, kicking, kneeing and elbowing. Applied in unison, Muay Thai is lethal and effective. Yet aside from its undeniable combative features, Muay Thai is learned and mastered as a Martial Arts system involving the concepts of flow, redirecting, adaptability, strategy, culture, and artistic expression.

Muay Thai Basic

Fundamentals are essential towards building a great foundation. This includes being comfortable with your fighting stance, gaining strength and stamina as you train, knowing how to move and strike, learning basic defenses that carry over all the way to the advanced levels, developing a proper mindset and understanding proper form.

Muay Thai Intermediate

The intermediate levels emphasize more footwork, timing, technique as well as introduction into more body weapons. Defensive skills will improve upon blocking, parrying, redirecting, and moving. We value the independence and interdependence of both defense and offense as it applies to any given situation. Combinations will be practiced through pad, bag, and partner drill training. Skill specific drills will develop speed, timing, explosiveness, and overall strength.

Muay Thai Advance

The advanced levels are all about simplicity. Mastery is based on how well a student can perform a specific set of combos, defensive/offensive moves, techniques, and fighting strategy in real time. Flow stimulates automatic responses that are crucial when it comes to dealing with pressure, unpredictability, and being outnumbered. Advance students continually nurture their strong points and work on areas of improvement. The degree to which combinations can be utilized as well as the ability to nullify any given attack separates the seasoned from the novice.

Warrior Mindset

Modern warriors seek practicality aside from wisdom, a means of becoming responsible fighters and use their skills appropriately. Muay Thai is not just some brutal sport to overpower, intimidate or injure others. Rather, it’s a means of improving oneself through dedication, humility, and responsibility. And this is what made Muay Thai a noble system in the past, when generals, men of stature and even kings practiced its principles. A school which truly teaches Muay Thai from the ground up and in its purest form would teach its combative skills while reinforcing its noble characteristics. One way of seeing this is through the Wai Kru dance. The ritual known as Wai Kru is a way to pay respects to the fighter’s teacher as well as apologizing to the king for the brutality that’s about to take place. This gesture of humility and respect is part of the warrior mindset representing true sportsmanship which extends beyond the ring.
